Tire and Wheel Care
You have made an investment by choosing your replica wheels, chrome wheels or aluminum alloy wheels. You will want to protect your investment by keeping your wheels clean at all times. Brake dust is probably the major cause of wheels’ finish deterioration. Brakes cause the wheels to heat up, allowing the brake dust to bake on to the clear coat finish of your wheels. Keep your wheels clean! Even those original wheels need care.
Wheel Care
The best and least expensive method of keeping your original or custom wheels clean is by using a soft cloth with a mild soap and water solution, staying away from harsh abrasive cleaners. A light coat of soft paste wax will keep the shine lasting for years on polished wheels. Never use aluminum wheel polish on painted or clear-coated wheels, as this can scratch the finish. Always clean and wax your wheels when they are cool. Take good care of those aluminum alloy wheels, replica wheels and chrome wheels using the same methods.
Tire Cleaning:
Keeping your tires clean and protected from UV rays and ozone is as important as keeping your custom wheels clean. Clean your tires with a mild soap and water solution. Always apply a quality tire dressing that contains UV blockers to provide maximum performance and appearance.
Tire Rotation
Tire rotation is probably the most important factor in tire
longevity. Rotating your tires every 5000-8000 miles will
ensure maximum tread wear for the life of your tires. When
you rotate your tires at these intervals, you are providing
the opportunity for inspection of each tire, which enables
you to drive with confidence.
